Vauxhall/Battersea represents London's most ambitious south-west regeneration; the Nine Elms corridor transformed from industrial brownfield to mixed-use riverside district. Apple UK chose Battersea Power Station for their UK headquarters, opening in 2023 in the restored Grade II* listed building. The US Embassy relocated here in 2018, Norman Foster's glass cube making an architectural statement. Two neighbourhoods serve different stages of regeneration. Vauxhall offers the established end; existing Victoria line station, bus interchange, and the cluster of residential towers around Vauxhall Cross that have been occupied since the 2010s. Battersea delivers the flagship transformation: the Power Station's four chimneys (rebuilt 2022) now anchor Apple's offices, retail, restaurants, and riverside apartments. The Northern Line Extension opened September 2021, adding Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms stations; removing the area's historic transport weakness entirely.
