About this space
Old Sessions House is no ordinary workspace. Built in 1779 as one of London's principal criminal courts, this Grade II listed building on Clerkenwell Green has been reworked under the Knotel banner into one of Central London's most characterful flexible workspaces. Enormous windows and chandeliers sit alongside a billiards room, a library and a former courtroom now used as a coworking lounge, with vintage upholstery, refurbished pieces and artwork from emerging artists throughout.
Membership runs on the Knotel Work Club model, built for teams of two to a thousand and more under a single membership. Members pay for what they use across 23 rooms and work areas, with credits managed through the Knotel app, from informal lounge access up to full-time private offices, of which there are five. Coworking is designed around session lengths, from a quick 30 minutes to a couple of hours, and membership also connects into Knotel's wider network of partner offices.
Wellness is genuinely central here. Free daily appointments with a masseuse and an on-site chiropractor come with standard membership, alongside breathing workshops, a no-phone shoes-off retreat space and a library of positive-thinking books. Two rooftop terraces, a pool and a lemonade bar make an unexpected oasis for this part of the city, and an on-site cafe and Court Bar handle food and drink. The events programme is rich, including a partnership with The School of Life.
Five meeting rooms take four to 22 people, plus a tech-enabled media room, all with AV and Zoom tablets and catering from the cafe, and 13 phone booths cover private calls. Wifi is fast throughout. Farringdon station is a short walk, on the Elizabeth, Circle and Metropolitan lines. Note there are no showers or self-service kitchens in the building itself: showers and bike storage sit two minutes away at Knotel's sister building on Farringdon Lane, and water stations run throughout.
