Design District

Greenwich Peninsula wraps a loop of the Thames in Zone 2, and North Greenwich station anchors it, one minute from this door on the Jubilee line, with the bus station alongside, the pier for Uber Boat services and the cable car across the river. Design District, at 19 Soames Walk, SE10, is a purpose-built quarter of that peninsula: sixteen buildings by a group of leading architects, fully pedestrianised, opposite the O2.

Nothing else in London workspace is built this way, and the practical effect is range. A freelancer can take a £25 day pass or a £175 monthly hot desk; a team of up to fifty can take a serviced studio or a longer lease; a growing brand can take a whole bespoke unit. Around them come a street food hall and bar, London's only rooftop basketball court, photography and podcast studios, 3D printing, pottery and a laser cutter, mostly hireable within other occupiers' spaces.
